Transparency & Results
ROAD TO REFORM • PRIORITY 14
THE PROBLEM
The public cannot evaluate performance when important information is fragmented, delayed, or never reported in a useful form.
THE PLAN
• Create public performance dashboards where legally permitted.
• Report staffing, vacancies, overtime, jail metrics, major spending, and selected public-safety outcomes.
• Publish major policy and contract information.
• Use data internally to hold supervisors and divisions accountable.
WHAT CHANGES ON DAY ONE
Identify the first set of public-facing metrics and establish a reporting calendar.
THE STANDARD
If we say it is working, we should be able to show it.
Measure crime, staffing, jail performance, spending, response, and operational outcomes—and report meaningful results to taxpayers.
